Hey Guys!
So I'm starting this blog in an effort to document my preparation for Coast Guard Boot Camp and to hopefully connect with people that are doing the same. I'm going to share what I'm doing for my workouts and also any interesting links I come across that I find helpful.
I'm a little bit nervous and excited at the same time. I know Coast Guard Boot Camp is supposed to be tough as nails so we'll see how well I prepare for it.
So far I found this website and it has a ton of great information on it. The guy that runs it just recently went to Coast Guard Boot Camp himself so the information is very fresh. He's also selling a book that he wrote called the Coast Guard Boot Camp Survival Guide and giving away customized workout plans based on your starting fitness level (it says on the site that he's a personal trainer). Sounds like a pretty damn good deal and I'm thinking about getting it. I'll keep you guys posted if I do and let you know if it's worth it.
Oh and if anyone has already bought it and is reading this, would you mind commenting and telling me if it's worth the money?
Thanks!
If you wanna check it out yourself, here's the site:

Here's the cover of the book (looks pretty cool):

Hey there Future Coastie. I happened to stumble upon your little blog and just wanted to wish you good luck in your preparation. I graduated from Cape May not too long ago and it's definitely not easy but it IS worth it though. Being in the Coast Guard is special - it's a selective service - so be grateful for it.
ReplyDeleteAs for that book you mention, I've never read it but I went to the website and there's a ton of useful info on there. I read some of the articles, and everything he writes is all true so I imagine the book is filled with solid info as well. Kinda wish I found this site when I was getting ready but I say go for it. It's only like 14 bucks and he gives you an exercise plan too so sounds good to me.
Good Luck Again and Semper Paratus!
Thanks Kwasi!
ReplyDeleteI bought the book earlier today so I'm gonna keep everyone posted on how things go. Any other words of advice? What was the hardest part?
